Welcome, parents, to Artistry in Strings, Book 2! The Parent’s Guide was written to help you — a parent, guardian, or other significant adult — support a child’s dream of playing a string instrument.

Below you’ll find the accompaniment tracks for the Improvisation Games. These exercises are based on a “free” improvisation philosophy, where students of all levels are able to manipulate various elements to their own liking. When playing these exercises, your child is practicing and applying new rhythm or finger patterns in a way that puts more emphasis on aural and technical skills and less on reading music.
