Albert
Stoutamire began his career in Richmond, Virginia where he played professionally
and taught music in the public schools. He later taught at LaGrange College
in LaGrange, Georgia and subsequently at McNeese State University in Lake
Charles, Louisiana. His published works include numerous compositions, method
books, and arrangements for school musicians as well as books and articles
on music and music teaching. His academic degrees were earned at the Virginia
Commonwealth University (B.S.), Teacher's College, Columbia University (M.A.),
and Florida State University (Ed. D.). Dr. Soutamire now resides in Brevard,
North Carolina where he continues to write for young musicians. |
