Neil A. Kjos Music Company has been establishing educational music series’ for the past 80 years, helping students and teachers around the world achieve excellence in music.

It all began in 1936 as a one-room sheet music operation at 14 West Lake Street in Chicago, Illinois. To this day, the vision and energy of music educator and company founder Neil A. Kjos, Sr. has guided the Neil A. Kjos Music Company. Throughout its history, Kjos has had a singular calling: helping students and teachers around the world achieve excellence in music.  This means creating and publishing a stunning variety of the best repertoire, educational methods, text books, and media; pioneering a greater dialogue between teachers and directors worldwide; and inspiring and celebrating the musical lives of students everywhere.

At Kjos, we faithfully draw on the rich, timeless pedagogical traditions of the past—all with a clear, trendsetting eye towards the future. Our authors and composers share this vision: creative, innovative, and dedicated women and men dedicated to serving the music community around the world.
